💖 Growing Through What You Go Through

Faith, Gratitude & Growth — Week 1: November 5, 2025

🌿 Introduction: When Life Doesn’t Go as Planned

Life has a way of surprising us — sometimes in beautiful ways, and sometimes in ways that bring us to our knees.

Maybe you thought you had the next few years all figured out. You had plans, dreams, expectations… and then life happened. A diagnosis. A job loss. A sudden change that left you staring at the ceiling, asking, “Why me?”

If you’ve ever felt like your world turned upside down without warning, you’re not alone. We all face seasons where our strength is tested, our faith feels fragile, and our hearts ache with questions that don’t have easy answers.

But here’s the truth I’ve learned — not just from faith, but from walking through my own storms:
God never wastes pain.

Every hardship, every delay, every tear has purpose. Even when you can’t see it yet, He’s weaving something beautiful out of your broken pieces.

So if you’re in a season where everything feels uncertain, hold on. This isn’t the end of your story — it’s just a chapter in your growth. 🌱

🌧️ The Storm Before the Bloom

When you’re in the middle of the storm, it’s hard to imagine the sun ever shining again. You’re just trying to stay afloat — paying the bills, showing up to work, keeping your family together.

But one thing storms always do is reveal strength you didn’t know you had.

Think back on a time you went through something difficult — maybe something that broke you. Now think about where you are today. You made it through that. You’re stronger now, even if you still feel fragile.

That’s the beautiful contradiction of growth: it often feels like breaking.

Like a seed buried deep beneath the ground, we can’t bloom without pressure. The dirt feels heavy, the darkness feels endless, but that’s where transformation begins.

The seed doesn’t bloom in comfort — it blooms in faith. 🌷

Maybe right now, you feel buried. Maybe you’re questioning why everything feels so heavy. But what if you’re not being buried?
What if you’re being planted?

🕊️ Faith in the Waiting

Patience is one of the hardest lessons to learn — especially when your heart longs for answers.

The waiting season can feel like the loneliest place in the world. You pray, you hope, you do all the “right” things… and yet, silence.

But God’s silence doesn’t mean His absence.

Sometimes He’s quiet because He’s working in ways we can’t see. He’s arranging details, preparing hearts, aligning opportunities — all while we wonder if He’s forgotten us.

Isaiah 40:31 says (RSV-CE):

“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

Waiting isn’t punishment; it’s preparation.

It’s in the waiting that we develop roots — roots of faith, endurance, and trust. Because when your roots go deep, the storm can shake you, but it won’t break you.

When you feel restless in the waiting, ask God this:

“What are You trying to teach me here?”

Sometimes the lesson isn’t about getting what you want — it’s about becoming who you’re meant to be before you receive it.

💫 Gratitude in the Growing

It’s easy to be thankful when life feels good — when the bills are paid, your family is healthy, and your plans are on track. But real gratitude shows up in the middle of the mess.

When everything feels uncertain, gratitude becomes a lifeline.

It’s not about pretending everything is fine; it’s about finding light in the dark.

Gratitude shifts your focus from what’s missing to what’s still good. It reminds you that even when everything else feels shaky, there’s still something — someone, some moment, some blessing — worth being thankful for.

Start small.
✨ A warm cup of coffee.
✨ A text from a friend.
✨ The strength to get out of bed and try again.

The more you practice gratitude, the more peace you’ll find. It’s like training your heart to notice God’s fingerprints — even in the hard stuff.

Try this:
Write down three things you’re grateful for each day this week.
Even if your list starts with “breathing” — that’s enough.

Gratitude doesn’t change your circumstances, but it does change you.

🌻 When Faith Feels Small

There will be days when faith feels like a struggle.

Days when you whisper prayers that feel like they bounce off the ceiling.
Days when you wonder if God still hears you.

If you’ve ever felt that way — me too.

But here’s the good news: God never asked you to have perfect faith. He asked you to have faith the size of a mustard seed.

That’s tiny — yet powerful enough to move mountains.

Faith isn’t about never doubting; it’s about trusting even when you do. It’s about saying, “God, I don’t understand this, but I’m choosing to believe You’re still good.”

If your faith feels small, that’s okay. Plant it anyway.
Even small seeds grow when they’re rooted in God’s love.

🕰️ Trusting God’s Timing

Trusting God’s timing might be one of the hardest parts of faith.

We live in a world that wants everything now — answers, healing, solutions, progress. But God operates on eternal time, not earthly time.

He sees what we can’t. He knows what we’re ready for and what we’re not. And sometimes, His “no” or “not yet” is His protection — not His punishment.

When you look back years later, you’ll often see how His delays were divine detours — leading you somewhere better than you could’ve imagined.

In Proverbs 3:5–6, we’re reminded (RSV-CE):

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”

That means we don’t have to have it all figured out. We just have to take the next faithful step — one prayer, one decision, one act of trust at a time.

🌾 Growth in Every Season

Every season of life has its purpose.

🌸 Spring teaches us new beginnings.
☀️ Summer brings abundance and joy.
🍁 Fall reminds us to let go of what no longer serves us.
❄️ Winter gives us rest and reflection.

You might be in a “winter” season right now — quiet, still, waiting for something to bloom again.
Don’t rush it. Growth is happening beneath the surface.

God often uses winter seasons to strengthen our roots. And when the time is right, new life will spring forward in ways you never expected.

💖 Finding Gratitude in Pain

Pain and gratitude don’t seem like they belong together — but they do.

Pain softens our hearts. It teaches empathy. It makes us more aware of others who are hurting. And when gratitude meets pain, something miraculous happens — healing begins.

If you’re walking through a hard season, ask yourself:
“What can this pain teach me?”

Maybe it’s teaching you compassion.
Maybe it’s showing you what really matters.
Maybe it’s preparing you to help someone else someday.

When we surrender our pain to God, He transforms it into purpose.

🌿 Real Faith in Real Life: A Story of Grace Through the Storm

She never imagined life would take this turn.

For years, she balanced everything — her work, her family, her faith — with the quiet strength of someone who had learned to keep going, no matter what. As a single mother once raising her kids on her own, she had already faced more than her share of storms. She knew what it meant to stretch a dollar, to stay up late at the kitchen table balancing bills, to pray that the next day would bring a little more light than the one before.

Life had taught her resilience. But nothing prepared her for this chapter.

Just as things were beginning to feel steady — the business she had built was growing, her career was stable, and her faith was deepening — the ground shifted again. Her husband was diagnosed with cancer.

It was the kind of news that steals your breath.
The kind that makes time stand still.

In those first few days, fear came in waves. Fear of the unknown. Fear of the future. Fear of losing the life they had worked so hard to build together. But beneath the fear, something else stirred — a quiet whisper of faith.

She remembered all the times before when God had shown up.
He had carried her through heartbreak, through uncertainty, through every storm that once felt impossible.
And even though this battle was harder, deeper, and scarier than anything before — she chose to believe He would show up again.

So she prayed.

Some days the prayers were full of words — for strength, for healing, for peace. Other days, they were just tears. But she prayed anyway, trusting that God could hear even the cries she couldn’t put into sentences.

As the months went on, she found herself juggling more than she thought she could — work, hospital visits, insurance paperwork, and the quiet task of holding a household together when life felt like it was coming apart.

And yet… she kept showing up.

She kept helping others, coaching clients, and encouraging people to find hope in their finances and their lives. Because she knew something now — that money wasn’t really about numbers. It was about peace. It was about purpose. It was about knowing how to find calm even when the world around you felt chaotic.

She didn’t have all the answers. Some days, she barely had the energy. But she had faith — and that was enough.

Slowly, she began to see how God was using even this storm for something good. Her faith grew deeper. Her empathy grew wider. And the work she did — helping others find confidence and stability — began to mean something more.

She realized that maybe her purpose wasn’t just about balancing books or budgets. It was about balancing hearts — reminding people that financial freedom and spiritual peace often grow from the same soil of trust.

Her story wasn’t wrapped in a perfect bow. There were still hard days, still fears, still prayers whispered through tears. But there was also gratitude — for every small miracle, for every moment of strength, for every reminder that she was never walking alone.

Because she knew now, more than ever before:
You don’t just grow through what you go through — you bloom there. 🌷

Life has a way of testing us right when we start to feel steady. But those moments — the ones that shake our faith, stretch our hearts, and make us question everything — are also where God plants the deepest roots of growth.

When we choose faith over fear, gratitude over bitterness, and surrender over control, something shifts inside us. We stop asking “Why me?” and start asking “What is this teaching me?”

That’s where transformation begins.

Sometimes growth looks like breakthroughs.
Other times, it looks like getting out of bed and whispering, “God, help me through today.”

And both are holy.

Take the story above — the one of quiet faith and strength through storm. It’s a reminder that even in life’s hardest seasons, God is still working behind the scenes. When the world feels unsteady, faith gives us the courage to stand firm. Gratitude helps us see that even in the darkness, there’s light.

💌 Final Encouragement

Friend, wherever you are right now — in joy, in waiting, or in heartbreak — know this: God hasn’t forgotten you.

You are still growing, even if it doesn’t feel like it. 🌱

You are being shaped, refined, and prepared for something far greater than you can see.

So keep showing up. Keep believing. Keep trusting that the same God who brought you this far will carry you through the rest of the way.

You are not broken — you are becoming.
